Dr. Umar Farooq is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and onsite Medical Director for Jefferson Health Northeast Residency program. Dr. Farooq was named Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Doctor and has a private practice in Bensalem Pennsylvania. He is the founder & Chairman of RECAP (Reaching & Empowering Communities Across Pennsylvania) and Arise USA PAC.

For many years Dr. Farooq has been establishing initiatives to help uplift the community. One of these strands focuses on education. For the last ten years, Dr. Farooq has been helping IMG (International Medical Graduate), medical students to achieve their career goals in the United States of America. One of the ways he helps them is by mentoring them at his practice. Depending on their visa status, the candidates either opt for an observership or an externship. During their observership/externship, IMG and medical students get clinical experience under the guidance of Dr. Farooq at his practice in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

To further ease the experience for them, Dr. Farooq has established RECAP House, which in essence provides complimentary accommodation for the students. The RECAP House provides a spacious, clean and welcoming environment which accommodates up to three students at a time. The close proximity of RECAP House to Dr. Farooq’s office further eases their experience.

Every year, many medical students and IMG rotate through Dr. Farooq’s practice and choose to utilize RECAP House facility.
